La illa ha ilallah

by Saleem Safdar

La illa ha ilallah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha ilallah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha IlAllah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha IlAllah
There is no God but Allah

He is the Master of the Day of Judgment
Malikee Yawme Deen
He is Al-Hafiz, Al-Alim ul Ghayb
He is the Protector, Knower of The Unseen
He is the Cause and the Means
For everything we see and do
Whether ease or hardship – it is preordained for you
He is Dhul Jalal Wal Ikram
One can find His majesty all around
In the child’s eye, in the flower, and chirping bird’s song
Even when down – one thing I know to be true
Is the beating in my heart, Allah-hu Allah-hu!

La illa ha ilallah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha ilallah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha IlAllah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha IlAllah
There is no God but Allah

Allah is He who has no partner
He has no father, mother, son, or daughter
He is Alone, both Al-Awwal and Al-Akhir
Nothing came before Him and nothing can come after
Allah knows what lies in men’s hearts
It is He who created us, He was there from the start
He knows our strengths and He knows our faults
What we do in the daytime and also in the dark
Everything is in His dominion, and His is the ultimate power
He has knowledge of everything, like the time of the Last Hour
Everything is dependant on Him, even those who deny
For without His mercy they would surely die
His majesty is reflected everywhere, from the sky to the sea blue
And reflecting His grace my heart sings Allah-hu Allah-hu!

La illa ha ilallah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha ilallah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha IlAllah
There is no God but Allah
La illa ha IlAllah
There is no God but Allah

It is Allah who brings the rain from the sky
Allah causes people to be born and to die
Through the hardships of life men ask “why”
Though it is already written in their destiny
To believe or not, that is the question
Whose answer can be found in every direction
Like plants that die and go through yearly resurrection
It isn’t the fruit of our own labor, only Al-Rahman's affection
You can feel it in yourself, like the dew on a rose
Which sensing morning light blooms and grows
You can see it around you, in the sun and the moon
Feel your chest heave like the sea when it swoons
It seeks His name, Who feels your pain, Who forgives man’s sins time and again
So break the chain of this duniya’s concern’s -
The fire of egos that in their own lies burn –
And strive to be like the lover who no longer knows
Her name as for her Beloved’s affection she yearns
Abandon all and listen to the mantra true
Of your heart as it chants Alla-hu, Allah-hu!
