From the Heart

by Bint Saeed

From deep within there comes a prayer

For those who live without a care

For the Ummah and its current state

Overcome with worry for its coming fate

In prayer I stand alone at night

Hands out stretched desiring the light

To guide us all, specifically me

“Oh Allah! Do you hear my plea?!”

To be brought back to the straight path

Where love and brotherhood overcome wrath

Of those who live for only worldly gains

Forgetting the Akhirah and its continuous pains

A closeness to Him the most Trustworthy of friends

Brings a new beginning to time thought had end

The trials and tribulations that shook my core

No longer depress me as they did before

For Allah is always on our side

Blessing us with tests no matter where we hide

So stand in prayer and put your heart to rest

For ease is granted after every test
